Are the old translations wrong? Or are the revisions just better worded?

20th Anniversary was our first patch, so much like our first chapters of Amitie and the Girl of Love that we reworked, some of the lines are mistranslated. This obviously wasn’t intentional, but my (Ingu)’s Japanese skill was shakier years ago.

To be honest, making and running Precise Museum was the first thing I had ever worked on as a translator (rather than a proofreader, image editor, or quality checker), so there was a lot I had to learn. At the time, I honestly didn’t think my Japanese was good enough (and whether it was is debatable), but did it anyway because there didn’t seem to be many other active translators around with enough free time and at a comparable level. If someone like Neni had been around I wouldn’t have started this group, given my previous Japanese skill.

That said, we have also gotten much better at phrasing and proofreading in general, so lots of lines are getting revamped to sound better as well in addition to working in some of the references to the other games more clearly.

In view of the upcoming 3DS patch for 20th, which will likely wind up going through another round of retranslting and revision in view of how things've changed and shifted regarding how you've handled projects now compared to then, will DS get the updated translation retroactively, too?

It depends on whether anyone in the team has the time and is willing to update the files in 20th DS.

When will you get around to translating the "Super Sonic Puyo Battlefield" story event?

We never promised to do this event and have no plans for it. Sorry!

Hello, everyone at Precise Museum! I played through a good chunk of your Puyo Puyo Chronicle translation and it’s really good so far. May I ask when you’ll finish translating Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon (Waku Puyo Dungeon Ketteiban on the PS1)?

Hi, glad to hear that you’ve been enjoying Chronicle so far! We don’t actually have any plans for Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon, sorry to say. We have our hands full right now with revising our old translation for 20th 3DS, and after that we hope to get to Fever 2. From there it’s a toss up as to what will happen.

This isn't a request. Does anyone in your team have knowledge of SEGA Saturn hacking whenever you get to that in the future?
